General Category / commerce / Thinking of selling 2x Stribe prototypes

Hi all,
I have two Stribe prototypes (The original 8 touch-strip version) which have been sitting unused for a while now, as I've had very little time to use them. I am reluctantly starting to think that I will not have enough time in the coming months to properly utilise them, and was wondering if anyone wanted to take either one or both of them off my hands. It seems like such a waste for them to be sitting idle, and my finincial situation is such that I could also do with the money. They are fully built, with a couple of LED legs that need resoldering from the original build, as I never got round to it. They are untouched as far as modifications go, but are modifiable to use the Stribe 1 firmware from curious inventor, by making a small mod that can be seen on the stribe forum. Im open to offers, but am trying to recoup as much of what I paid for them as possible ($600 each), bearing in mind the man hours that went into their construction. Cheers, XPM

Congratulations!!! As always, I'm keeping an eye on the forums here, but have had very little time for messing with the stribe recently. I don't really have the knowledge to mess with the firmware, but am looking forward to Max for Live, when I can really start messing about on the software side of things! If the firmware for the stribe1 is so much better than that available for the stribe prototype, could an adapter be fitted to the prototyping area next to the arduino on the board? Any improvements would be welcomed, as I would love the stribe to be as quick as possible for when I finally get cracking with the software side of things. Just a little taster of what my stribes are going into to end my post:

So is there any way that the max patch can be adapted to allow for osc inputs for all 16 seperate columns? because at the moment, if I try and address more than one column simultaneously, the 'LED column' number box flicks between the column numbers I am trying to address, causing the physical columns to not respond the way they should.

Hi Josh,
any news on the new firmware? I've had a look at digging into the firmware side of things myself, but can't really get my head round it thus far, I will attempt to persevere with it, but as a total novice when it comes to this side of things, I don't really know where to begin.
I haven't as yet uploaded my reaktor .ens, as it is a bit of a mess, and is not particularly useful in its current state. The monome control is good, but I'm still having trouble sending data to more than one column of bargraphs at once, without the whole thing going wrong. I don't know if this is a firmware issue, or a reaktor/max osc communication issue.
If there is a way to send the top and bottom led numbers for each seperate column within one message to the stribe, then I believe that my problem could be solved, however looking at the max patch, it doesnt seem that this is currently the case.
I don't know if you've seen the arduinome project, but I was interested to see that there has been an arduinome serial written, and was wondering if anyone has had a look at it to see if it can be hacked towards a possible stribe serial?
Bit of an all over the place message that, sorry.
Hope all is well,

General Category / software / Accessing multiple LED columns simultaneously

Hi guys,
Been away for a while, having started a new job and such, so all of the things i was getting busy with have fallen by the wayside, but I'm slowly climbing back onto the music wagon.
I have been trying to impliment a meter style volume control for the stribe within my Reaktor Live ensemble, and am having a problem sending data to more than one column of LED's simultaneously. When I attempt to write to more than one column at once, the stribe serial max patch 'LED column' section flicks between the various columns I am trying to control, and this leads to a crash in the stribeserial patch.
Is there any way that this situation can be remedied, and does anyone know whether this is a limitation within the serial patch, or within the firmware.
Hope that was explained adequately, but if not, I can clarify.
Thanks,
Steve

Hi,
Got this all talking with Reaktor now, which is brilliant, and I'm currently building a patch that uses the stribe LED displays as 8 seperate level meters with the relevant touch strip controlling each level and I seem to have come accross a problem. I think I understand what the issue is, but if I'm wrong please let me know.
Here is the problem: I can only reliably control one column of LEDs at a time. This is presumably because whenever I try to play more than one track at the same time, I am trying to address two seperate columns simultaneously, which is causing confusion at the StribeSerial end of things. This is shown by the LED column values in the max patch flitting between different column numbers as Reaktor attempts to address multiple columns. Is there any way for each column to have seperate settings with fixed values so that each column can be addressed individually and simultaneously?
Sorry if I've explained that badly, if anything needs clarifying, let me know.
Hope you can help,
Steve

Hi Josh, I have installed the new firmware and everything seems to be working fine, but I have a quick query. Is there any way that I can use your max 5 StribeSerial to interface with Reaktor? The live tool that I have recently built for use with my monome is a Reaktor ensemble and I would like to incorporate my 2 stribes into the setup.
Kid Sputnik and Vlad may also be able to help with this as I believe they are both Reaktor users.
Thanks

Hello,
Good to see that people are still becoming aware of the stribe. Things have been quiet lately, but hopefully will pick up in the not to distant future. I plan on posting some pics of my proposed live setup, containing a monome 128, 2 stribes, and a kaoss pad 3 built in to a flight case that I picked up on ebay. I'm really excited to continue work on it, and am definately looking forward to future live gigs when I have it all up and running.
